Combining beauty rituals from Latin America to Africa in order to create inovative products , Mawena is definitely the skincare line you need to add to your beauty shelves !
Inspired by Manjaku, a West African language, the term Mawena originally means “I am seen as I am”, a name to better reflect the values of self love and frankness that the founder always has defended.
The idea of creating this amazing brand came while its founder Helena Mendes, went to visit her sister in Mexico. During this trip, Helena, originally from Guinea Bissau and Senegal, West Africa lived in immersion with a community of Mayan women, where she learned beauty rituals and discovered natural ingredients.
